IMO, the Ferret's most hilarious tendency is to over-exaggerate what the market will do that day, based on what the futures are indicated. The best is when, at 8:20 EST, say the S&P will be up 2 pts. She start her yapping with, "FOLKS!!! WE'RE LOOKING FOR A HUGE RALLY ON WALL STREET TODAY." Then, on her next update, the futures will have slid slightly, from +2.00 to -2.00...she'll then open with, "FOLKS!!! MAJOR SELLING WILL BE THE STORY TODAY!!!"

I mean, let's face it...if the S&P futures aren't trading at least +/- 7 or 8 points above/below fair value, it is a non-event. Seeing the Ferret make an issue out of a non-event and then switch directions in 30 minutes almost makes it worth watching her...sort of like wanting to see a car wreck. While I do not feel she has one ounce of journalistic ability, it is fun to see her make an ass out of herself (speaking of...when is the next triple-witching date? Anyone wanna take bets that some firm will try for a hat-trick on getting Maria to shill for them on IBM an hour before the close on triple-witching??? In Vegas, they say "never bet against a trend!"). And, I think it is safe to say she won't be doing any endorsements for Helene Curtis or any other shampoo marketer.
