OT - Your dad sounds a lot like my dad. <g> He still has his Intel, too. I got Atmel from him; he's been trading it for years. We're both out of it now. I bailed in the high 30s before this last 'extra' upleg, which is the strangest thing I've seen in a while. I'm not looking to get back in anytime soon. AMD kicking Intel's butt? Maybe for one or two quarters. Long term, no way. I'm more concerned about communications ICs than microprocessors wrt competition. Seems like dozens of companies all think they're going to get rich off chips for cellular handsets, broadband tranceivers, network switches, etc. Most of them are priced for perfection based on a brief history of high earnings growth off a miniscule earnings base. I don't see any reason to believe these markets will avoid commoditization. WT
