I have been watching cnbc for a few years now and I find that the quality of analysis has been dropping. For example with the engle case, all we seem to hear is that its over for big tobacco. Why wasn't there detailed analysis about the potential appeal bond or the effect of a bankrupt mo on the economy. I'm not just saying this because I own MO.

it just seems that the network is becoming superficial and short sighted.

I remember watching neil cavuto a few years ago. He was good and asked tough questions.

In the morning, I find squawk box is becoming too personality oriented with the brain and joe.

I find myself switching more to ROB TV which is a canadian business channel. They have regular feeds from cnn fn.

I know cnbc is very profitable and the entertainment aspect is important for ratings, but won't this have a more negative effect long term.

Let's say the high tech stocks fall 30% and stay down for a year or so, won't this ruin cnbc's credibility.

cnbc is becoming hype central

as for mo , I do wish that mgmt would be more forceful about defending its position. Perhaps they feel its better to lie low until the election is over.

Does anybody know why RJR was able to spin off its tobaccco assets without the fear of being charged with fraudulent conveyence, and MO says it won't because of it?

I would to engage the board in a discussion of the pros/cons of a spin off of the non tobacco assets.

Theo, where did you find the report that Bible sold 400 000 shares recently ?. I haven't been able to find it.
