Runner,
I read your contribution to my wife who responded with something she'd seen on the Discovery Channel last night. They seem to delight in regaling us with stories of natural catastrophies. Last night they spent time on Hurricane Andrew in Florida in 1991.

Within 24 hours looting was well under weigh, and it appeared to be the usual suspects; those who had not prepared and were desperate to feed their families. Usually we see televisions going out the door, too, but I wasn't watching, and we're talking about necessities here.

I'm with you, the police are going to be really busy.

By the way, my wife and I volunteered to assist the local Red Cross Chapter for Y2K. As I may have mentioned previously, we have several churches on standby for shelters, and she and I have volunteered to spend New year's Eve with others who are Disaster Team Leaders at the Chapter office. I shall have to see if their office computer is internet ready!!

Bill
