I am no Apple apologist, but I am able to separate my personal feelings, and emotions, from the factual occurrences of the marketplace and the workplace.

Two years ago Apple was at risk, factually, not just a perception. Today Apple is not at risk, factually, not perceptively.

Regarding professional usage... are you referring to market niches such as Graphic Design, Multimedia, Education, Small Business, Internet, or ?.

Your expressed concerns about what you call the slow erosion of a loyal base. Why would you care? If you're an investor take a profit and put your investment dollars elsewhere, and if you're a user of the products make a choice to use something else.

If the stock value came as a result of going overboard on the consumer thing I hope Jobs keeps going overboard.

Analysis of the actual is a learned skill.
