That by itself is enough of a reason to reject Christianity.<<
Skipper,that thought puzzled and troubled me also when I
first believed because didn't understand many of the Good Lord's
basic truths. Then I realised that everything that I cherished
the most, my wife, children, family, and the state of love itself,
are all gifts from God Himself. All these things came from Him
and I love Him so much for giving them to me. He was before these
and He will be after them.
Why do you think we have children? It is so we can understand
how God loves us.
God's word isn't a bunch of rules designed to hurt us or tax our
spirit. It is because His way is the way that works. Why ???
Because He created everything by speaking it into existence.
If He says it then it is so.
Why does God want us to not sin? Because sin destoys. I think
that is obvious from the state of the world around us.
I am new to this thread and have not read back very far
but I will try to get up to date as soon as I can.
If you want to know the truth then read the New Testament
from the start to the finish without skipping around so you
will have context like any other book you read. Pray for the
Holy Sprit to give you understanding and He will.

Jesus is the only answer there is and His answer is LOVE.
He has taught me to love my family so much better than I did
before I knew Him and to love even my enemies and I am filled
with joy. He makes me care for you who I have never seen.
THIS IS HIS MESSAGE.
LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART.
LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR.
If you love The Lord He will teach you to truly love others
(whether or not they deserve it) just as He saved me while I
was still a sinner and didn't deserve it.
How can you reject this message of love?
