Justin,

The short answer is that we're still working on it, and until we've completed it, we will leave the old SI site live.

The slightly longer answer is that we've gone through an initial design round with the Guardians of the Classic SI (do a search on this subject for details). We got some good feedback, and we're about to go through a second round.
