J.D. Edwards Joins International ASP Industry Consortium

Over 200 Companies, Including J.D. Edwards, Have Joined New Consortium
To Promote Emerging Application Service Provider Business Model

DENVER, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- J.D. Edwards & Company (Nasdaq: JDEC), the
leading supplier of agile software solutions for E-Business, today announced
that it has joined the fast-growing Application Service Provider (ASP)
Industry Consortium, an international advocacy group dedicated to fostering
greater understanding of and guidelines for the fast-emerging application
service provider segment of the computer industry.
The Massachusetts-based ASP Industry Consortium has grown quickly in only
a few months. Launched on May 11 at Networld + Interop in Las Vegas with
25 companies, the consortium now has more than 200 members, including
J.D. Edwards. The consortium will sponsor research, foster standards and work
to educate the marketplace about the benefits of the evolving ASP delivery
model.
As an early adopter of the outsourcing business model, J.D. Edwards
provides one of the most comprehensive offerings on the market with its
OneWorld(TM) enterprise software. OneWorld encompasses a full range of
integrated E-Business, front office and supply chain management functionality,
delivered through ASPs that specialize in specific vertical industries,
business process outsourcing and traditional outsourcing models. OneWorld's
agile architecture is well suited for the high degree of customization offered
by the company's ASP partners, and is easily changed to meet evolving business
requirements.
"We believe that an outsourced E-Business solution should meet the
evolving needs of fast-growth companies to help them serve their customers and
compete to their fullest potential," commented Gayle Sheppard, vice president
of outsourcing for J.D. Edwards. "Our commitment to the application service
provider market is shared by our peers in the ASP Industry Consortium, and we
are pleased to have the opportunity to work together to raise the awareness
level of this emerging business model."
The consortium has formed four working committees which are developing the
consortium's operating plans: Education and Outreach, Research, Best
Practices and Membership.
