Here's my take on the conferance call.

1. I think many analysts had their own agenda, coming back to the "flat or up slightly" revenue forecast. I was sorry that Paul did not remind them that with flat revenue quarter to quarter, sales would still be up 40%!

2. As I recall Pentium MMX represented 40% of channel sales in Q1, which sounds pretty incredible to me and was not picked up on.

3. I thought that the industry ramping up quickly on motherboards for the Pentium II is a big improvement over the Pentium and means that margins will not go down to the 50% level anytime soon. In fact they assured the analysts that margins would be 60% plus for the year, which is pretty incredible.

4. The changeover to the .25 micron process seems to be going smoothly and will add to capacity. In fact, capacity constraints were said to NOT be a problem in Q1 or Q2 (Kurlak's question).

5. Based on the guidance given I calculate Q2 eps in the $2.09-$2.21 range, which will be up from the $1.17 last year by 79% to 89%, which ain't hay!

6. Intel does not see any major bottlenecks holding back consumer sales. On the business side sales growth is dependent on the transition to Windows NT and faster Lans and Wans.

7. I thought Erika's question about DRAM's was singularly inept.

All in all a very solid performance.
