PP:

1) Check your system's resource usage (e.g. Run SYSMON or any more sophisticated memory usage monitoring tool you may have access to)
2) Load Velocity
3) Shut down Velocity
4) Re-check your system's resource

You could repeat 2-4 until such time as Velocity ultimately disables all your system's memory and crashes your machine. Its a new product and current users are effectively beta testers for it. Personally, as my $$$ is on the line, I'll wait until its a bit more mature before I place any dependence on it.
