Hi Rory. "[Moore]strongly advocates market orders rather than limit orders"

could you provide a reference, please? Neither market nor limit orders are in the index, and I can't seem to find a discussion about price points in the section on buying gorillas. Anyway, I agree completely that trying to "time" gorillas in a major way with an eye on prices is contrary to the spirit, and perhaps the letter, of the game. The only kind of "timing" we are supposed to do relates to where the technology and company is in the TALC (early market, chasm, tornado, etc.). But the MoSSTeBoFS tests I was conducting were distinctly short-term: the idea was to set a limit order just below current market price while committing oneself to buy in soon afterwards (a couple of days, perhaps) if the limit wasn't hit. It worked once, and failed dramatically once; my own conclusion is that it doesn't work for stocks that have got a lot of wind behind them at any given time but might be worth trying again should any of us be buying during more "normal" times. But I can see how others would disagree, and I have no serious arguments against a market buy-in approach. Just don't like paying retail, that's all. :0)
