Doug, I doubt TM will take his engineers in a take over attempt and restart business elsewhere. This is a very labor intensive, capital intensive business. With TMs current record of return on capital I doubt that there will be too many folks investing in him. There are two parts to a business: A tech part ( TM good at that ) and a business side, TM bad at that. Investment Bankers understand very well the great importance of business saavy. I don't think TM will have many followers. Also engineers would be crazy to leave when, if acquired by a larger co, they will have the safety of their jobs guaranteed and have prospects of more R&D money flow to take them to new heights. Also, few of us are indispesable: there are many new engineering, hungry, young grads, full of energy, ready and willing to take the ball and run.
I say put an offer on the table and let us see what happens,
