Ben, who is in the 9th grade, is taking Algebra II with Trig, which most kids take in the 11th grade, and many bright kids take in the 10th grade. And he's taking it at a GT/Pre-IB level, which is even more advanced. And he's trying to do his usual thing of playing computer games, reading, and futzing around, and then somehow pick it up in a few minutes. He might have a C this quarter. I have to nag both him and Chris so Chris will check his homework without Ben asking, because Ben won't ask. Chris is very good at math, he made A's in calculus and all that, so he is well able to help Ben, I don't know why I have to nag to get them together. I thought that nagging once would do it, but I've got to do it every day. Chris keeps saying that HE didn't take Algebra II until 10th grade, maybe it's some kind of competition/guy thing that I don't understand.

And Ben's C++ teacher is a moron, she's doing stuff like grading him down for using a red pen when he couldn't find a black one to take his test. Bitch. Everyone else in the class is 11th or 12th grade, she's never even had a 10th grader, so he is quite the anomaly as a 9th grader, and she insists he act like a senior. Which isn't unreasonable, but he's just very disorganized. So I've got to try to ride herd on him, but it's like herding kittens.
