All,

Some close friends of mine are going to spend Y2K in Italy -- despite warnings from me and others. They have asked for advice as to what precautions to take and about all I could come up with are the following:
* Take lots of cash (you may be there a lot longer than you think).
* Take some gold.
* Take a couple of the water bottle/water filter combos.
* Put anti-freeze in your traps at home and turn off the water.

Anyone have any other suggestions?
