Victor -
Let me be absolutely clear - the legacy free version of the iPaq WILL NOT RUN with either NT or Windows9X - they require the legacy hardware to boot. Windows 2000 is the first OS which will support such a platform.

However, CPQ, DELL, and most other big OEMs have been shipping the "release candidate" version of Windows 2000 for several months already, with a promise of free upgrade (CD or via the web) of the final product. They would certainly do that with the iPaq. The big corporate customers have great hand-holding from MSFT on issues like this through the Platinum support agreements.
