Just had a lengthy and most enlightening conference with two of the foremost POKEMON experts in these contiguous 48; my grandson Richy (6) and his sister Emma "Dilemma" (4) who's got a centuries-old soul and reminds me of a middle-aged midget. Little kids these days are amazing. When I was their age I collected bottle-caps (bent), Campbell Soup labels and pictures of Lassie. Anyway, they'd seen the POKEMON movie. "So how was it Rich" I asked, ready to buy a ton of KIDE on the opening Monday if he gushed. "Good" he said, running off to play with Capt. Tomato. "You mean great, huh Rich?" "It was OK, good. Not great" he tossed back over his shoulder. I turned to Emma Dilemma. "Emma, you saw POKEMON. It was great wasn't it?" I asked. "Feh. The popcorn was good. Can I feed the fish in the pond?" "Sure Emma."
OK, every kid in America will wheedle and whine his folks to see POKEMAN the movie. And it'll bring in a lotta dough, once. Two, three, ten times? Not according to Richy and Emma Dilemma. And I wouldn't bet against these two. (Lee)
