For those of you Quote.Com supporters out there take a look at CL00M on a daily chart... I can pretty much guarantee you that the daily low on 10/18/99 and 11/10/99 wasn't $0... and despite notifying the folks down at Quote.Com several times, the data has still not been corrected. And of course, over the past several months I have noticed SEVERAL instances like these in both stocks and futures contracts.

The scary part is that you usually only notice that data is bad when its blatantly obvious (like it is in this case), but who knows how much data on their charts is inaccurate but is overlooked because its not as easy to spot. Its unfortunate because their pricing is phenomenal... but the bottom line is that if you don't have enough confidence in their data, you just can't trade off of it.

A couple of people have asked for alternatives to Quote.Com... I agree, that if you are comparing Quote.Com to a DBC or BMI product, then you might as well stay with Quote.Com, because DBC and BMI have even bigger problems of their own, but if you want a rock solid quote system, S&P Comstocks digital satellite feed, XpressFeed, is about as good as you can get (it costs about $500/mo, and interestingly enough, S&P Comstock is Quote.Com's uplink data provider)... If you want an internet feed, I would recommend Track Data, but only get their FastTrack product... all their other products are crap, but for stocks, their FastTrack data is fast, accurate, and reliable. And of course if you're a futures trader, then CQG is the only way to go.

Quote.Com has only kept me as a customer as long as they have because $80/month is a great price...but I am starting to realize that with them, you definately get what you pay for.
