Got a serious question for you, David. Hughes boasts that they are the largest provider of VSATs in the world. NSATF makes VSATs which is just one of their products in their huge portfolio offering of products. This competes directly with Hughes. But, NSATF distributes Hughes' DirecTV and DirecPC. What do you make of this relationship scenario? If Hughes is going to be competition for the various LNBs, the VSAT, and other products later, why is or why does NSATF distribute Hughes' products?

The only thing I can figure is that the VSATs that Hughes sells are actually NSATF's VSATs, or NSATF is hoping for a greater amount of business from Hughes later in other areas of the Ka band. The closeness with which these two seem to be makes me think NSATF would be a great takeover target for Hughes at some point. The ground station is going to be an enormous piece of the satellite market. There will be those who build the satellites, then there has to be a ground station. If NSATF makes a great product here, then any one of a number of electronics companies are going to want them. Now, if NSATF plays hardball and goes it alone, they will probably do fine since thus far it appears that the demand for their product is very strong.

With every day that passes, NSATF becomes more valuable. Not because they are selling more dishes for DBS. Not because their revenues are increasing at a very high percentage. Not because satellite access is gaining momentum as a viable alternative to other broadband. These things and more are certainly helping NSATF's cause. What is making NSATF valuable is the technology they have and quality of products they offer that nobody else in the world has.
