Yes, they are showing a profit, but I have been willing to overlook that because they are growing rapidly. <VBG>

I believe that this area will continue to grow rapidly as businesses increasingly make their data available through the internet. OLAP, CRM, Data Warehousing, and Enterprise portals will all benefit from internet-like growth because .... they are internet plays. However all are real businesses, and they will be profitable. My current holdings include BRYO (which I bought at 13), ARDT, and SGNT (which I bought at 8). I like these companies, but I would look for pull backs before buying BRYO or SGNT.

As for the private companies, keep me posted if the one you like is ready to IPO. INFA and EPNY are two recent ones that have just exploded. If you establish a business relationship with the company you want to own, keep asking them if they will direct some IPO shares to you. Most companies direct a portion of IPO shares to customers and friends.
