RE: "INTC can no longer maintain there growth through processors. With a market cap of 250 billion INTC is limited"

Lyle,

You appear to be referring to desktop microprocessors - the old Intel.

For the new Intel:

Do you know how large the Telco market is?
...the high-end Server market?
...the network market?
...the wireless market?
...the IP-telephony communications market?
...the data hosting farm market?

Did you know Microsoft has changed their vision statement for the first time in 25 years. And another article indicated Intel has changed their mission statement too.

If Intel executes well, there is a huge market waiting for them to capture. These links may shed some light:

SERVER MARKET:
Message 11923473
$51.7 billion for Server systems (out of $88B) by 2003 per IDC.
(Intel's piece would be the processor part of $51.7B, less currently installed base of Intel-systems)

CONVERGENCE OF NETWORKING AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS MARKET:
Message 11885887
$150 Billion By Duncan Martell biz.yahoo.com
(Intel's piece would be part of the $150B, as a chip supplier)

To figure out what additional revenue and profits Intel will make from the above new markets (which excludes new business opportunities from the data farm business, wireless, etc.), just input a guesstimate of:
(processor_price/totalsystem_price)*(market_size) * (estimated_Intel_processor_margins)
to get an idea on how small Intel's market cap is.
