Hello again daba, you gotta remember that about 1/2 the total outstanding shares are held by insiders (Al Kahn owned 25% of the company until recently sold some big chunks in the high $80's and $90's).
That leaves about 5.5 million shares in float and nearly 1/2 of that number are Short positioned. Translation, there are a large number of non-believers who don't think it will last, don't think it's so "all that", don't care that it is the biggest craze anyone can remember. They believe it must fall soon because it will be all over by spring.
This makes for volatility, and you ain't seen nothing yet, wait until Monday (tomorrow 11/15/99) when KIDE posts powerful 3Q earnings, announces that the movie is a smash hit, mentions the incredible momentum of Poke'mon sales for this Christmas Season, gives a rosy outlook for Q4 and Y2K, and splits the stock at least 2 for 1.
This will be the shorts' worst nightmare. A short squeeze could devlope that would be a cover and buying frenzy to be remembered. I can hardly wait, John
