According to my data, which cannot be confirmed until I hear from some experts in this field, the North Atlantic Oscillation has turned strongly positive. This is not fatal to a hard winter in North America, there is a normal swing between negative and positive but another week or so should show us if the trend is our friend.
We just came off of at least a week of negative readings, which is snow lovers and OSX lovers friend.

If NAO were a stock indicator rather than a weather phenomena, it would be two weeks to two months forward looking, though it would have to be classed for now as experimental.

You can put me on ignore, but not if you still listen to the weather, they are wrong at least half the time on the 5 to 9 day forecasts, heh heh.
