I think the message would have to be a lot more complicated than that- because sometimes Mr Right does show up when you are young, and some women (and men) have dreams that are mostly about family- and that is GREAT (imo). Doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the mountain climbers but those folks don't show up for PTA or run boy scout and girl scout troops. Of course Cosmo really isn't aimed at people like that, or people who want a stable normal family life (imo). And Cosmo presents such an unrealistic view of women, women's bodies and sex that anyone who read and believed Cosmo would be bound to be unhappy. I hate unrealistic expectations imposed from outside. We all have enough internal unrealistic expectations we don't need other people generating MORE for us. And as for paying people for the privilege of having them foisted upon us- well I just call that weird and wacky.
