Hi Glenn, sorry if you bought in at $110 but:

Re: Show me any legitimate press release that says "RAMBUS will dominate the market for DRAM soon"-- I only believe legitimate press releases. I know of NO legitimate press realease that says RAMBUS is supposed to REPLACE...

I think you may have fallen for the Dataquest "press release"

zdnet.co.uk
Speaking at Dataquest's Predicts '99 conference in Paris, senior Dataquest analyst Richard Gordon foresees a revolution in DRAM technology and with Intel putting its money behind Direct Rambus technology, he believes 60 percent of total DRAM shipments will be Rambus by 2002.

Since then, of course:

seminews.supersites.net
Estimates vary widely on how markets will shape up for the next-generation memory chips. Dataquest has just revised its Direct RDRAM forecast down slightly to a 5% DRAM market share this year, 20% next year, and 50% in 2001.

Semico Research Inc. is more conservative in how it sees the Direct RDRAM penetrating the memory market. Analyst Sherry Garber puts the new chip's share at 1.7% this year, 8.6% next year, and 13.6% in 2001. She sees DDR-SDRAM parts growing even faster, gaining a 8.6% share this year, 16.8% next year, and 26.4% in 2001.

Re: Intel CAN NOT and has NOT dictated or forced ANYTHING or on ANY MARKET...

This one may have to go to court - let's just leave it at 14,257 people willing to sign a document that says that you're wrong and I'm right.

Athlon Motherboard Petiton- Jeff Tom 1:08 p.m. CST
In light of recent events, there isn't a better time to sign the Athlon motherboard petition if you haven't already. Currently, there are 14,257 signatures (for all those motherboard guys info).

Re: This statement is wrong- NINTENDO was using RAMBUS as far back as 1996.

Nintendo didn't use DRDRAM, it used a different type of rambus not suitable for PCs - and you might note that Nintendo won't use any type of rambus in it's future game machines.

Re: .....and working, pre-production DDR chipsets from several vendors are being shown at Comdex by several vendors. Those tests that are available don't show an overwhelming benefit from any of the memory technologies.
Please provide a legitimate press release that proves this statement

micron.com
Boise, Idaho, November 9, 1999 - Micron Technology, Inc., today announced that its internally developed DDR demonstration platform has shown significant advantages in performance benchmark testing over other high-bandwidth solutions. These tests confirm that DDR SDRAM delivers the high-bandwidth, low-latency performance needed to keep pace with advanced microprocessors and graphics subsystems.

viatech.com
In addition, attendees of the show will get a first glimplse of VIA's running demo of its new DDR/PC266 chipset for the next generation of memory solutions.

That's the whole point of these lists - to exchange information and opinions. I've tried to present some "legitimate press releases" to show why I have the position I have - while you presented no links - you can do whatever you want with the information - feel free to not pay any attention to them.

But if you're under water in your position, it's not very nice to try to convince others that they should become the "greater fool" and bail you out. These message boards don't have that kind of influence anyway, so there's no need to become belligerent and crude - it just makes you look petty.
