I'm not quite sure what this means. HDR is two-way, with a slower reverse link (100 or 200 kbps?) and a faster forward link (up to 2.5mbps in theory). Sooo, why can't it "work" for broadband interactive?

I read this to mean that since HDR is optimized for moving relatively large amounts of data efficiently and inexpensively, the response time suffers and therefore would not be suitable for fast-action games played between two people. I think I.J. mentioned delays of up to 1/2 a second being acceptable for data. Imagine trying to shoot down The Red Barron when everything was delayed by up to 1/2 sec.
