PW, I installed my own memory - I just mentioned that Tomato might want to spend the $25 to have it done. You're right, this is not a good way to save $25. It may depend on the vintage of the computer whether the new RAM is detected or not. My PC is a recent eMachine and detection happened behind the scenes, not even a window saying it was detected popped up. Also I believe the RAM card was called a DIMM. It popped in much easier than the SIMM I installed years ago on a 486 type PC. And, the plastic hold-downs actually hinge [instead of just bend as on the old PC]. Gottfried
