It can get confusing I guess, but companies like Qualcomm and Gemstar are not in the ecommerce realm, and b2b, whereas ARBA is, for instance.

Gemstar will launch its two-way wireless system in 2001 which will leverage its guide platform for e-commerce or t-commerce as they have now termed the TV platform. It's licensing agreements call for a split in commerce transaction fees as well as for advertising.

Viewers will be enabled to make purchases of services and products by touching a single button on the remote. A second touch will be needed for transaction confirmation. No telephone, STBs or service subscription will be needed for the GuidePlus TV owners.
