As you might not be aware, I am advised of every facet of our corporate communication infrastructure, including Internet message boards. I am acutely aware of the concern our shareholders have for the future of our company, as do I.
We have witnessed dramatic changes within our industry over the past few years. Only five years ago, voice user interface technology was a nascent business. Now, competition has flourished and VUI is as ubiquitous as Windows software. Our recent alignment with OnStar confirms this technological fact of life.
Throughout our growth, I have had one overriding business objective: to maintain General Magic's leadership position within the industry. Although our stock has suffered from time to time, I believe this objective has been fulfilled. Now, we will all reap the benefits of this strategy. With the ensuing announcements over the next few days, I believe our primary investors, shareholders, employees and most important--our customers--will be
handsomely rewarded. This is the legacy I wish to leave at General Magic.
