BroadVision and Siebel Systems Partner to Deliver Personalized Customer Interaction Via the Web
Business Wire - November 15, 1999 08:15
SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 1999--BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq:BVSN), the leading supplier of personalized e-business applications, and Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:SEBL), the world's leading supplier of Web-based, customer relationship management (CRM) solutions, today announced a strategic alliance that will integrate BroadVision's personalized e-business applications with Siebel Front Office applications. Through this partnership, BroadVision and Siebel Systems' customers will be able to rapidly and cost effectively deploy highly personalized e-business applications that seamlessly share customer information with their sales, marketing and customer service information systems.

Both BroadVision and Siebel Systems focus on delivering products and services that allow organizations to build and maintain strong relationships with their customers. BroadVision's solutions allow organizations to customize and deploy intelligent, one-to-one e-business applications that enable companies to personalize communications, transactions and services to match the needs of customers, employees and partners. In addition to handling high-volume transactions and content management, BroadVision applications dynamically capture information about a user's specific activities on the Web -- including their buying habits, product and service interests, and preferences -- and instantly adjust the information the user receives to best match their interests and needs.

Siebel Systems' Web-based front office applications allow organizations to manage and synchronize all customer touchpoints, including the Web, call center, field organization and channel partners. Using Siebel Front Office Applications, organizations can provide a consistent customer experience across all channels, whether the customers interact with them face-to-face, over the telephone, through a reseller or via the Internet.

Through the integration of BroadVision One-To-One and Siebel Front Office Applications, organizations can now seamlessly share customer information between these customer-centric applications. Now, when a user interacts with a BroadVision-powered Web site, the customer information captured in BroadVision is automatically combined with information captured in Siebel Front Office Applications. This rich, detailed customer information can now be leveraged by the integrated BroadVision-Siebel system across all channels to deliver products and services that best meet the customer's unique needs. Sales professionals can now automatically cross-sell and up-sell related products; marketing professionals can create personalized campaigns to alert customers to promotions and special offers; customer service representatives can instantly offer relevant service packages; channel partners can provide local sales and service assistance; and customers can receive high quality service over the Web.

"In Unisys' e-@ction EasyShop, Unisys has partnered with BroadVision and Siebel Systems to create an e-business channel that gives customers greater choice and control in ordering Unisys products, and enables Unisys to manage the customer relationship more efficiently," said Joseph W. McGrath, Unisys senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "Most importantly, by providing a convenient vehicle for cross-channel sales, it makes Unisys easier to do business with - a key imperative for us in serving our customers."

"BroadVision allows organizations to interact with customers over the Internet in a truly personalized way," said Thomas M. Siebel, chairman and CEO, Siebel Systems. "Through this alliance, we can now offer our customers more options in deploying e-business applications that are seamlessly integrated with Siebel Systems' open, standards-based sales, marketing, and customer service information systems."

"By partnering with Siebel Systems, the clear leader in CRM, we can now offer our customers a comprehensive customer relationship management system that seamlessly integrates with our personalized e-business applications," said Dr. Pehong Chen, chairman and CEO, BroadVision. "Now, BroadVision customers can leverage information stored in Siebel Front Office Applications to enhance the entire customer experience, giving the customer the power to interact with the company any way they choose - over the Web, via the telephone or face-to-face."

Under the terms of the alliance, both companies have committed joint development, sales and marketing resources to drive the quick adoption of integrated eCRM solutions into the market. Both companies expect to make Siebel Front Office Applications and BroadVision e-business applications connectivity available to their customers in the first calendar quarter of 2000.
