CYGNAL?S NORMEX GROUP AWARDED
TELECOMMUNICATIONS CONTRACT FROM SNC LAVALIN
Oshawa, ON ? November 15, 1999 ? Cygnal Technologies Corporation
(TSE:CYN) is pleased to announce that its Normex Telecom division was
awarded a contract worth approximately $700,000 to provide a structured
cabling network for voice and Gigabit Ethernet at the Magnola magnesium
extraction smelter currently under construction in Asbestos, Quebec.
Utilizing its own unique technology to extract magnesium from mine
tailings, Magnola will become the world?s largest producer of
magnesium. This new smelter is being built on a 40-hectare site and
represents the second largest construction site in Quebec.
Along with performing the installation of a wireless network, Normex is
installing the entire telecommunication infrastructure and backbone
connecting 18 buildings from end to end. The network will consist of
eight kilometres of fibre optic cable, six kilometres of copper cable,
and 30 kilometres of Gigabit capacity cable. The network will carry a
25-year Nordx/CDT performance guarantee, as Normex is one of the select
few Nordx/CDT certified companies in Quebec.

market ? the Engineering, Furnishing and Installation (EF&I) of advanced
