FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
E.DIGITAL CORPORATION INTERNET MUSIC PLAYER DESIGN DEMONSTRATED BY TEXAS INSTRUMENTS AT COMDEX
(SAN DIEGO, CA, November 15, 1999) - e.Digital Corporation (OTC: EDIG) announced that its portable, secure, digital music player design will be featured this week at COMDEX 99, one of the world's largest international computer trade shows in Las Vegas. The unique design, based on e.Digital's MicroOS(TM) file management system, will be demonstrated in the Texas Instruments Internet audio suite at the Bellagio.
President and CEO Fred Falk said, "We are very pleased to have Texas Instruments demonstrate our e.Digital/Lucent/Texas Instruments Internet music player design in their suite. Our design includes all the features customers expect in a high-quality Internet music player including superb sound quality. This week's widespread exposure to potential licensees and OEM customers-both at COMDEX and Webnoize in Los Angeles-launches the next generation of Internet music players."
The portable digital music player prototype built by e.Digital also features Lucent's ePAC(TM) music compression technology, Texas Instruments' programmable Digital Signal Processor (DSP), QDesign's Music playback and MVP software, and Liquid Audio's SP3 system. The design includes support for virtually all known music codecs and supports several digital rights management systems. e.Digital's design stores music files on removable CompactFlash(TM) cartridges from SanDisk. The design is compatible with Mac OS or Windows based PC's.
The company also announced that along with Texas Instruments, Liquid Audio, RioPort, QDesign, SanDisk, I-Jam, Iomega, and RCA, it is co-sponsoring an invitation-only party on Tuesday, November 16 at 8 p.m. featuring a live performance by The Smithereens. The party follows a Texas Instruments-sponsored Digital Music Roundtable.
