OT re: options
hey Susan,
couldn't resist saying something on the topic. a few years back i decided that, since i was right so often on my stocks that i would buy calls instead and really clean up with the leverage (same thought process you voiced). this was not with client $ of course- no i ventured into this with mine alone. anyway, had a couple of good profits to start with and then jumped in with both feet. EVERYONE warned me against options citing how nearly everyone loses money. of course, i am not 'everyone' and so i smugly rationalized that my abilities would translate into a killing in options. well... it was a killing alright. after about 18 months of losing 40% of my net worth, i finally threw in the towel. lots of great stocks that i lost all or most of my $ in. i'd buy the stock for clients, options for myself. lost all my $ in emc twice. meanwhile, after 5+ years, my clients are sitting on ~1,400%. lost all my $ in sebl too. the list is long and painful to look @.
anyway, just my 2 cents. leverage works in both directions......

and, of course, all is clearly imo only........nick |
