Kevin, I think we agree to disagree. What mattered most is the Federal Funds Rate. Look only where the Banks are re-financing. I did not invent this either. The Discount Rate is of anecdotical importance by the amount of money changing hand at that rate.

Usually the Fed signals its intentions first by moving this one, without touching the Federal Funds.

Prime Rate moves are a Bank only decision... they are always quicker to increase than to lower of course...
