Its nice to know that there are some christians who don't live every moment to make us all like them. :)
As to the rest of your post: I personally do not think that you, nor anyone else, needs to accept something that they feel is wrong. You have to be true to yourself first. What I would address is that people tend to view certain things stereotypically. Homosexuality for EXAMPLE: I am not gay. I am not interested in being gay. It actually revolts me a bit. But I feel that its not my place to judge these people as right or wrong, so I put myself in the mind set that allows them their way of life, with as much equality as I allow anyone else, dispite how I personally feel about it. My first response to homosexuality is that it is not the best route to take in life, but I am in no position to judge.
Another example: I personally feel that the christian religion is one of the most dangerous things on the face of the planet, as is any dogmatic religion. But I would NEVER stand in your way to believe or worship as you choose. Untill, as I said, it violates my or some one elses rights without cause.
Its a live and let live attitude, with respect for difference mixed in. |
