To All:Re Mirroring two computers

I'm about to purchase a laptop to compliment my desktop. What I intend to do is have both system running identical operating systems (NT) and respective software ie; Office 2000, IE5, Quicken etc.

My question; is there a simple! solution available to allow me to mirror one system to the other should I revise, upgrade or otherwise change in some manner files in one or the other system whether these files be data or system files.

I'd like to share some examples of my requirements:

1. Updating Quicken files to my desktop from the laptop while I am away from the desktop.

2. Say I update IE on my desktop with the most current upgrade available from MS, I don't want have to download the upgrade to the laptop.

3. I create a file in Office in a certain directory on my laptop, I want this same file to reside on my desktop in the same directory tree.

I sure would appreciate any help, suggestions or critisim on my ideas.

I can further elaborate if needed.

Regards
Wayne
