Thanks for all the responses and the technical references were all way over my head too! I was trying to find the reference to share for a book about Shuji Nakamura and the LED revolution that got me interested in this stuff but of course I forgot the title and author and no search engine would cooperate. I try to read at least one physics related book a year and, having almost no math, that is as hard as trying to understand galium arsenide deposition but it keeps the neurons firing. Now to look up Cree Research. Thanks again. I'll let you know if I stumble across something -I'm good at creative stumbling.
