richard: cc820 is beating vc820 to punch at Intel ftp site. There is good reason for CC820 to be released first. ftp://download.intel.com/design/motherbd/cc/ I believe that Intel will produce at least 10 /1 excess of CC820 with (SDRAM) to VC820 (RDRAM) versions near term. I talked to Synnex today. All Intel BX mobos have virtually disappeared from marketplace. CC820 is the most likely BX replacement mobo. Intel got to get large quantities of CC820 to market to keep existing BX customers happy. Otherwise they will be going to VIA chipsets in large quantities. VC820, FB820 and OR840 mobos can wait until RDRAM are guaranteed to be available in continueous supply regardless of previous FAB shutdowns. How for how long can Samsung supply channel with pre-delay RDRAM without RDRAM disappearing from market temporally if FAB doesn't restart. If Intel is promising Dec 15 for all RDRAM mobos, Samsung, NEC and Toshiba must be able to fill all orders for RDRAM without disruption at that date. john
