Sorry to butt-in but I likewise have communicated with Ovetus as well as with company rep.s on his behalf and he appears to be legit. I don't think he still has his large position though. I recall reading here last winter that he sold most of his Hybr holdings so he may be working with what he has left.

As for Hybr I remain in watchful mode. The industry is rather stagnant right now with DSL playing the spoiler. IMO it's going to take some legal cases and a shake-up on the phone company side to move HFC back into high-gear. Unfortunately, it seems the 'old boys' are back in control of the industry -for the time being. Although DSL is quite limited in range (3 mile radius of routing pt.) it effectively snatches most of the lucrative urban markets away from the HFC vendors. That's one heck of a profit incentive removed from HFC's development.

I believe once DSL is saturated, both technically and marketing-wise, the focus will have to return to HFC. For the meantime DSL is one nasty, patch-work of a system which will be stealing the show ($$) from cable -and limiting the top-end for consumers (DSL/ADSL can only give from 384K - 6Mb/sec. access vs. 12Mb/sec. for an HFC digital-only net).

So, pay more, get less, wait longer. Same old, same old.
[Actually DSL is cheaper but...]
