Hi Ron. Yes BEA Systems (BEAS) went public, and picked a poor day for it, could barely get its head above water. 5 million shares at $6

But, the co is sound and it has a well designed web site (can't quote it but its easy to look up). Goldman Sachs and Alex Brown brought it public and it was expected to pop up 2 points or so, but it stayed at $6 on a day when the market declined 150, and is at 6 1/2 today.

They are in middlewear...not things you wear around your middle, but softwear that unites mainframes and distributed PC computers in enterprise networks. I believe their main product TUXEDO, is based on a product originally licensed from Novell. They have an international presence, able management, and I think they will do well.

OK I looked up the website beasys.com
