See, one of my problems is that there were particular ideologies responsible for the bloodiness of the century. (Most of the other conflict is confined to the Third World, which is not noted for its modernity). I agree that fascism was as much a modern phenomenon as communism, but I do not concede that either represents the true face of modernity. America is the true face of modernity, the most historically, socially advanced nation. And although it has problems, America is pretty good.........
