(NASDAQ: MTSN - news), a leading supplier of advanced process equipment used to manufacture semiconductors, today announced the appointments of Walter Kasianchuk to the new position of general manager and vice president of its Epitaxial Products Division, and Norman W. Jones to the new position of vice president of global sales.
Spurred by the company's rapid growth, greater than 200 percent growth in revenue over the same quarter a year ago (fiscal third quarter 1999 compared to fiscal third quarter 1998), the new appointments will support Mattson Technology's plans for continued growth. Kasianchuk is responsible for the development of Mattson's existing and new epitaxial products, including developing markets for new epitaxial products and bolstering the process and support infrastructure for the entire product line. Jones is responsible for leading Mattson Technology's sales programs and driving the strategic expansion of the company's multi-product sales force.
Mattson Technology CEO Brad Mattson noted that both Kasianchuk and Jones will help Mattson's executive management team execute the company's aggressive business programs to meet rising customer demand. Kasianchuk joins Mattson Technology from Mitsubishi Silicon America (MSA) where he was most recently executive vice president of engineering and technology. While at MSA, Kasianchuk founded the company's Engineering Process Development and Materials Evaluation Division, which provided the technology for advanced analytical techniques and materials science, developed technology transfer systems and supported major processing areas including epitaxial deposition. He was responsible for developing and implementing MSA's global technical organization, improving the company's product differentiation in its marketplace. Prior to MSA, Kasianchuk held senior management positions with Siltec Corp. and Shell Oil Company. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from University of Notre Dame (Southbend, Ind.) and a master's degree from St. Mary's College Graduate School of Business (Moraga, Calif.).
Jones joins Mattson Technology from BOC Edwards (BOCE) where he was most recently senior vice president of sales and marketing. While at BOCE, Jones developed and implemented the programs and organizations that eventually garnered BOCE the leading market position in Taiwan. He has also held senior management positions with Athens Corp., Lam Research Corp. and Intel Corp. Jones began his career at Burroughs Corp. (San Diego, Calif.) where he was an early developer of NMOS, PMOS and bipolar technologies for captive production of memory and logic semiconductor devices. Jones holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from University of Delaware (Newark, Del.) and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University (University Park, Pa.). |
