SonicWALL, Inc. (formerly Sonic Systems) is a provider of affordable Internet security for small to medium size companies. SonicWALL's target end-use customers include single-site professional offices, such as law firms, accounting firms, advertising agencies, e-commerce businesses, and branch offices of large companies. SonicWALL's Internet security products are also implemented within school, library and small office/home office environments.

The market for Internet security products is projected to grow to over $1 billion by the year 2000 from about $300 million in 1997. Now that small to mid-sized companies have realized the potential of the Internet and network computing, networks are increasingly being implemented within business operations. These companies need to protect their intellectual property and proprietary information by implementing security measures to combat potential intruders and hackers. International Data Corporation predicts that of the estimated 7.1 million small businesses in the United States, the percentage connected to the Internet will grow from about 40 percent in 1996 to about 70 percent in the year 2000. However, Reed Exhibitions has found that 62 percent of professional advisors, such as accountants, lawyers, advertising and PR agencies, are using the Internet without implementation of any security measures.
Most security products are geared to large networks, which according to the U.S. Small Business Administration, comprise only one percent of all networks. This forces medium and small businesses to choose between a costly and complex Internet security solution, or no solution. The lack of affordable Internet security solutions for small and mid-size companies presents a significant opportunity for SonicWALL, who is well positioned in a strong market.

I also noticed they are hiring for a variety of positions at the company which recently relocated to a larger facility. Things must be going well at SonicWALL.

Happy Trading...................
