Good point made in this article,..... your net company may have super products and dazzling prices, but given the massive info overload that the net creates, how do consumers come to know that the company exists or how to find the company? If one punches up a single search item, like say "skates", the search engine comes back with 245,000 items.
The answer is of course, massive advertising, which jacks the costs up, thus ensuring that the company can't make profit on the sale of its products (but might on the sale of its stock). (g)
The idea that doing business on the web is wondrous because it is "low cost", is a myth, at least if we are talking about anything beyond a hobby situation.
