Hi ole 49r, Most people I talk to have totally discounted Y2K. They regard this as hype, a non-event and are not slightly prepared for even a hiccup. Few even have extra food or water to last a couple of weeks. When the issue of being prepared is raised, scorn and derision are the result. We must hope and pray the North American power grid remains intact and operable. I cannot imagine what will happen in Russia, Japan and the like. Certainly hope those crappy nuclear generators hold, running on those POS legacy systems or Chernobyl will look like a minor event. The old Chinese curse holds true " May you live in interesting times ". If things go wrong, you certainly know. Good Luck to us all.
