There is more scientific proof of the latter than the former. Furthermore the concept is less fanciful.
However, consider that the two events are not mutually exclusive, and the proof of one, does not rule out the other.
Even given that, if we could prove that God created the world, that does not prove it was a Christian version of God. It could have been Allah, It could have been Buddha, or (most likely, IMO) it could have a been a God of all humanity, a God who is mature and wise enough to be above the petty ego involvement of caring what name you call him.
