Tuesday April 15 8:02 AM EDT ALANCO's CDSI technology receives approval Hangzhou steel plant certifies SO2 compliance SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 1997-- Alanco Environmental Resources Corp Tuesday announced receipt of compliance approval for its Charged Dry Sorbent Injection (CDSI) industrial air pollution control system from Hangzhou Iron & Steel Co., the largest steel producing factory in China's Zheijiang Province. ALANCO's CDSI systems was installed and placed in operation in December 1996 in the Hangzhou Iron & Steel. Independent laboratory testing conducted in January established that the system's SO2 removal efficiency met Chinese national standards. The contract with Hangzhou Iron & Steel calls for four additional CDSI systems to be installed at the plant, including two CDSI systems to be designed for new boilers. ALANCO Chairman Dennis Schlegel said, "The acceptance of our CDSI system by Hangzhou Iron & Steel represents a major milestone in ALANCO's development of the Chinese market. We are now in our second plant in China, have cleared every hurdle and met every compliance standard, and have contracts for additional systems in both plants." In January ALANCO announced that it had received a Certificate of Final Acceptance for the CDSI system installed in the Dezhou Thermal Power Plant in China. That certification was issued after the Shandong Province EPA Monitoring Center completed over a year of tests of emissions from the CDSI system and found the system met China's national emissions standards. The ALANCO CDSI system is one of only five environmental technologies listed in China's Agenda 21, the country's environmental cleanup plan for the next century. ALANCO currently has a marketing agreement in China for its CDSI technology with China National Environmental Protection Co., one of the country's largest environmental enforcement companies. ALANCO's patented CDSI system uses an electrostatically charged sorbent to remediate and remove noxious gases such as sulfur dioxide from a hot exhaust gas stream. The CDSI system is notable for being more efficient and cost effective than competing technologies. CONTACT: Alanco Environmental Resources Corp., Scottsdale Investor Relations, 602/607-1010 |
