Sudan: Ministers Affirm Utilization Of Oil Revenues In Funding Development

Khartoum, Nov. 16 (SUNA)- A number of ministers have refuted the unfair campaign and baseleass allegations on Sudan intention to utilize the oil revenues to fund war, denying them as untrue and unfounded.

This was expressed in a news forum at Hilton Hotel in which Canadian and European media men and correspondents of news agencies met with Minister of Transport Dr. Lam Akol, State Minister for Energy and Mining John Dor and the Undersecretary at the Ministry of External Relations, Dr. Hassan Abidin.

The officials said that such allegations aim to scare the companies operating in the oil field in Sudan.

They stressed that the oil revenues will be utilized in establishing development projects in the country.
The ministers also denied claims on human rights violations and slavery practices in Sudan.

Dr. Abidin has shed light on the progress achieved in the human rights field and the constitutional and political developments in the country.

Dr. Akol also reiterated the government's credibility and seriousness to realize a peaceful solution to the south problem within framework of the Declaration of Principles.

He said that John Garang is pursuing the war for the sake of certain agenda which are other than the southern question.

Dr. Akol pointed out that Khartoum and Fashoda peace agreements provided solution for the south problem.
