BD or anyone with insight, what is your view on this CSCO tidbit:
Cisco Announces Availability of First Products from the Broadband Fixed Wireless Ecosystem

Firstly this is fixed wireless local loop and it works in the MMDS sector namely about 2.1 to 2.7Ghz. This is what the companies that WCOM bought have licenses for.

MMDS is supposed to have a range of up to about 20 miles whereas LMDS which has the 28Ghz segment is supposed to be effective over much shorter ranges although the LMDS license is for a bigger segment.

The MMDS segment is what the wireless cable TV companies have and the sort of operators that work in that market for video/voice/data/internet ie broadband full duplex are WCII, TGNT and NXLK. They each work in differing segments but they might want to use the kind of equipment being talked about.

I will post your post on the WCII thread because one of the stalwarts over there is Prof. Bernard Levy who is ine of the leading academics in that part of the wireless fieeld and lets see if he will give us a run down.

Best regards,

L
