Rich, I agree with you that the issue hasn't really been spelled out for us. But I guess the other issue is, nobody's expecting a big gain on sale...Alex Cena, in any case, is discounting a scenario for sales price of <750MM (contrasted against an accretive purchase value of 5BB, at least for Mot or Nok)...after taking care of departing employees' stock options so as not to fan the class-action-suit flames, there's probably not going to be a lot left over to divvy up. Rather, and as you surely know, it's the terms of the deal that matter, and there's probably no way to compensate Sony for a long-term ASIC contract they won't be a part of.
