Volume is such an easy thing to manipulate, so I don't put much stock in volume. You see volume spikes on a lot of penny issues that I think are just the MM's passing shares between themselves. The price goes nowhere and it doesn't cost them all that much, if at all. People see the increased volume and think somebody knows something, so they jump in too.
